AuroYouth

The Society’s youth wing AuroYouth has the dynamic ideal of preparing the youth to become the builders of a better tomorrow. It has, therefore, set the following objectives for itself:

• To inspire the youth to find their aim in life and help them in realising it
• To awaken the youth to their great future, and to help them to prepare themselves, spiritually and materially, to play their true role in all aspects of individual and collective life
• To make the youth conscious of India’s great spiritual heritage and the world’s destiny, and work for human unity in a rich and organised diversity
• To encourage the youth to work for the evolution of a higher humanity and the advent of a new world, and to channel their talents, enthusiasm and energies into the building of a new future

Membership 
The Mother has said that youth is not a question of age but of attitude and spirit. Remaining true to this spirit of the Mother's words, no age limit has been fixed for participation in the activities of AuroYouth. Thus ‘youths’ of all ages are invited to join AuroYouth, irrespective of their age, nationality, caste, creed, religion or gender. There is no separate membership fee for becoming a member or participating in this movement.

However, to be a member of AuroYouth implies a commitment and a very conscious choice and decision. To be a member of AuroYouth and work for the accomplishment of its goal is not an ordinary calling but an enormous challenge and a privilege.

Sri Aurobindo has said,

“Our ideal is a new birth of humanity into the spirit; our life must be a spiritually inspired effort to create a body of action for that great new birth and creation.”

There are no rigid rules or programmes fixed for activities of AuroYouth. Any activity can be undertaken but they must be given a new orientation and blossom spontaneously within the culture, conditions, temperament and factors peculiar to each place to which the youth belongs. What is important in this context is not the number of activities launched, but the spirit and the consciousness behind them and the search for newer forms to manifest.

To accomplish the goal we have set for ourselves, each member of AuroYouth is encouraged to participate in any of the activities undertaken by the Society. AuroYouth also arranges regular youth camps in Puducherry and other places in India.International youth camps are also being planned.
