Dr. S. C. Parija and Shri. Vijay Bhai jointly inaugurated the first event after the MoU between Sri Aurobindo Society and Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth.

The camp was initiated with dental awareness talk, educating the participants about common dental ailments, especially stressing on tooth decay and gum diseases and measures to prevent from them. They were also highlighted about the eating patterns and food choices which cause tooth decay.

After a brief tea break the SBV team started off with their camp to the Society workers and their family members.   Around 86 members were benefited from the dental camp. Routine dental checkup including cleaning, polishing, filling and extraction were done in the camp. Few cases which needed a detailed examination were referred to their hospital - Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental sciences for the further treatment.

Though many people did not have adverse tooth problems, they felt that “prevention is better than cure” and hence had a routine cleaning of their teeth.

On completion of the dental checkup each participant was given a summary of their diagnosed problems and then were educated to have a dental check-up at least once in a year and were also given health tips to maintain oral hygiene like brushing teeth twice daily, proper brushing habits, rinsing mouth after every meal and healthy food habits to maintain teeth properly.

Many employees brought in their kids for the comprehensive oral health and awareness camp. They said that they were able to assess the oral health awareness of their kids and learnt about the oral hygiene practices which are of great importance in day to day life.

Overall, the society members were very happy and pleased with the activities carried out by the HR department for the benefit of the employees.

The aim of the HR team was “Happy Teeth for Happy Smiles,” which they felt had been accomplished through this comprehensive oral health and awareness camp.
